A Christmas With an Impact

On a bright early December afternoon, the nine singers of the Arkansas River Chorus. shared our ‘Christmas Gift to the Community’. For an hour we provided a program of music and a ‘Great Escape’ from all the chaos and negativity that saturates our senses nearly everywhere we turn. Barbershop Christmas music was sung, seasonal selections provided by connections within our group, several members of nearby chapters shared their talents and the audience of nearly 100 people joined with us singing familiar Christmas carols. Volunteers served light refreshments following the show and tirelessly worked to assure that a very positive experience was in place. In addition, financial support from a number of patrons($1,045) and an offering taken at the program($242.80) plus the anonymous matching gift will enable us to share over $2,575 with local charitable organizations in order to help them provide food, gifts and outreach to those who otherwise might not enjoy a merry Christmas. We realize how truly fortunate we are and celebrate the opportunity to give to our neighbors. It is, indeed, ‘more blessed to give than to receive’. Our hope is that we all may live in harmony and ‘let every heart prepare Him room’. Dear Brothers in Song, thank you for all your time, effort, energy, commitment, and love to make this come together and bring ‘Joy to the World’.
